These screenprints, produced with fine art master printmaker Wim Legrand at Black River Studio in Cape Town, South Africa, suspend graphic depictions of the wire-frame SPACECRAFT UNLTD sculptures (also for sale on this site) over psychedelic space backgrounds based on wax print fabric designs. Wax print fabrics are an exemplar of cultural diffusion - designed and made in Europe, and originally intended for an Asian market, they became popular in Africa where they have been adopted as a symbol of local identity and culture, and many versions proliferate.
Each screenprint is 66cm high x 51cm wide, and they're a triptych, depicting the XW01, TFO1 and MF01 SPACECRAFT. You can buy the prints singly (look for the name on the bottom of each full-size print in the images here) or all three. They were printed in an edition of 25 per image. Most have already left the studio and are in homes worldwide, from Brazil to Ireland. They've been exhibited internationally, including at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe.
